If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases under the GDPR:

  • performance of a contract where processing is necessary to provide the Service you requested;
  • legitimate interests such as service security, fraud prevention, product improvement, and internal administration, provided these are not overridden by your rights;
  • compliance with legal obligations;
  • consent, where required, including for certain cookies or optional features.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar technologies. Some are strictly necessary for the Service to function, while others may be used only with your consent where required by law.

For more details, see our Cookie Policy.

The technical review identified use of session cookies, login-related security cookies, local storage, session storage, reCAPTCHA, and other client-side storage mechanisms.

8. Payments

Payments are handled through PayPal and any other payment providers we may make available. Payment data is processed according to the terms and privacy policies of the relevant provider. We may receive limited billing, transaction, and subscription metadata from PayPal for payment processing, bookkeeping, fraud prevention, support, and account management.

9. Third-party services and subprocessors

Depending on configuration and features in use, we may use third-party providers such as:

  • hosting and infrastructure providers;

Based on the technical review, current or observed third-party services may include Google reCAPTCHA, Google Fonts, AI providers, Discord-related services, SMTP/email delivery, and PayPal as payment provider.

We may update our list of subprocessors from time to time.

10. International data transfers

MeetClique is operated by a company established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. However, your primary application servers are hosted in Germany, and backups are stored on an isolated remote backup server based on your infrastructure description.

Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we will implement appropriate safeguards where required, such as contractual protections, processor agreements, or other lawful transfer mechanisms under applicable data protection law. GDPR applies to controllers and processors offering goods or services to people in the EU, and international transfers require a lawful mechanism.

11. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to:

  • provide the Service;
  • maintain accounts and workspaces;
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations;
  • resolve disputes;
  • enforce agreements;
  • preserve security and fraud-prevention records.

Retention periods may vary depending on the data type, account status, workspace configuration, legal obligations, and operational needs.

If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period unless we must retain certain data for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legitimate business purposes.

12. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, infrastructure safeguards, backup procedures, and security monitoring appropriate to the nature of the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Your privacy rights

  • access to your personal data;
  • correction of inaccurate data;
  • deletion of personal data;

15. Children

MeetClique is not intended for children below the age at which they can legally consent to use online services under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children in violation of applicable law.

16. Business accounts and controller/processor roles

Where an individual signs up directly for personal use, MeetClique generally acts as an independent controller for the personal data needed to operate the Service.

Where a customer organization uses MeetClique for business operations and uploads or manages personal data in workspaces, that organization may act as the controller for that workspace data, and MeetClique may act as a processor providing the Service on its behalf. In such cases, a Data Processing Agreement may apply.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the “Last updated” date.
